Sound examples of some bootleg recordings
This concert at the Paradiso in Amsterdam in 1983 one of the gigs from which most bootlegs came out of.
One of the reasons for this coincidence might be that a soundboard recording was made during the gig in very good quality and this mastertape was the base for some of the bootlegs, from which new ones could be easily ripped off.
While coppying the sound, the bootleg makers might have applied fitlers, changed the pitch, or even overdubbed some effects, in order to achieve a distinct or even better sound.
However, comparing the following sound cuts (the first metres of Sister Ray) from different bootlegs, one can observe these amazing variation of sound and pitch.
